USES of HDMI Over IP Extender
This is a product that has an increasing market driven by a number of factors Max Length:

Customise:
It is not possible to alter the length of a HDMI lead but CAT6 cable can easily be cut to the required length in the field with basic RJ45 connectors, crimping tool & a roll of CAT5e / CAT6 cable
Pre-Cabled:
Often customers wish to put their HD satellite receiver in the a corner unit to feed a flat screen TV hanging over the fire place. Such a set up may have CAT5e / CAT6 cables pre-wired or it may be possible to pull them through
